Shell Scotford has upped its energy game once again.
On Tuesday, Nov. 9, Shell Canada and Tennessee-based partner Silicon Ranch announced their intention to install a 58-megawatt solar farm at the Shell Scotford site.
Reaching out to Mark Pattenden, Shell Canada’s senior vice president of chemicals and products, The News also wrote,
“As we support this goal by transforming Scotford into an Energy and Chemicals Park, we need to invest now in technology that will help us to significantly reduce our emissions. This solar farm will certainly help us take a giant step toward that goal,” Pattenden told The News.
“I’m pleased with the progress we are making at Scotford and in Shell to take meaningful action on decarbonizing our operations and our products as our collaboration on this solar farm with Silicon Ranch demonstrates. There is still more to be done, but today’s announcement is a strong indication we’re heading in the right direction,” he added.
